This is a sobbing story:
In other words, there have already been three generations of the Nujiang Bridge on National Highway 318, one in use, one abandoned, and one standing between the other two generations of the Nujiang Bridge with only its piers. This pier is the Nujiang Bridge more than sixty years ago, and the bridge has already been demolished. Why is it that the pier of this bridge is only preserved?
Some people say that during the arduous history of repairing the Nujiang Bridge, there was a road warrior who was fatigued by continuous work and accidentally fell into it while checking the pouring of the bridge pier. He solidified in mud, and his comrades tried everything possible to rescue him. In the end, they had to shed tears and build him into the pier, becoming a part of the Nujiang Bridge.
Today, any car passing by the Nujiang Bridge will honk its horn and whistle in tribute. Unfortunately, no one knows who he is, what his name is, and the crowd only praises his deeds and this immortal monument
But in fact, this story is not true!
In early 1950, the People's Liberation Army was ordered to march into Tibet, but there was no road available for driving on the entire 1.2 million square meter land. It's less than 2000 kilometers from Ya'an, Sichuan to Lhasa, Tibet. With yak transportation alone, you can only barely make one round trip a year. Even by horse riding, it takes more than half a year. The urgency of road construction is evident
Chairman Mao instructed the troops entering Tibet to "advance while repairing roads". The Sichuan Tibet Highway emerged in response to the situation, and its construction was so difficult that it truly won the old saying: "To open up a road in the face of mountains, to build a bridge in the face of water.
The Nujiang River is a roadblock in front of the builders!
The Nu River flows rapidly, with cliffs and cliffs along its route, making it extremely difficult to climb, let alone build roads and bridges
But this mountain ditch in Basu County, Tibet is a necessary route for the Sichuan Tibet Highway and the "throat of the Sichuan Tibet Line", and this difficulty must be overcome in any case.
So, the Nujiang River Bridge was built here. Although only 74 meters long, it was the only bridge on the Nujiang River that could pass large vehicles and became a military channel in the national strategy that has been prepared for war for many years. That's why for a long time, the Nujiang Bridge and its surrounding areas were listed as military restricted areas, guarded by armed police soldiers 24 hours a day, and no one was allowed to take photos nearby. Speed restrictions and unreasonable parking were strictly enforced to prevent enemy sabotage.
Therefore, will such an important transportation artery really be supported by such a legendary bridge pier?
You should know that there are significant quality hazards with bridge piers like that!
You should know that national defense engineering is of utmost importance! How could a professional engineering unit leave the remains of its comrades in the bridge piers and affect the quality of the project?
When you observe the bridge piers, it is not difficult to see the "growth rings" on their surface, which are left by the layered pouring of the bridge piers. Even if people fall off using this construction method, it is fine, and it still cannot meet the conditions of drowning people in it.
But then again, the authenticity of this story does not conflict with the tribute we paid as we passed by, but the nature of the matter is different. If the story were to be like this, it would definitely make the sacrificed comrades die in peace! This propaganda style of artistic processing actually misleads the authenticity of the event and tarnishes the road building heroes who have gone through hardships
